Moving in.....
After finally doing some finishing touches inside with the stove and the door we could finally move our things inside (We had most of our stuff outside under the deck and under tarps).
And now...... the roof/tarps
This was the fun part. Haha not. Trying to pull to 20x40 tarps over this little round structure turned into one hell of a task.
Rafters
This is where it got a little tricky. Normally there would be a team of people to help get the rafters into the ring and secure them at the end where they meet the wall. It was only Iris and myself. About 2 hours and more than a few swear words we decided to use a 4x4 post to hold the ring while I meticulously placed the first four rafters.
The compression ring.
I had originally built a compression ring out of layered plywood (you can see it laying on the deck in the last set of photos) but it was way to heavy. So I scrapped that idea and actually went with the bottom half of my parents old oak table. It was perfect. I just had to shorten it a bit so I could fit the right amount of rafters in it.
The next step. The walls.
